Ohhhh, what rippling muscles....

A Hugh Jass thank you to my trainer Bob for making my legs feel like they are not part of my body any longer. Seriously, I had an amazing leg workout on Thursday night with some awesome core work and a stretch session thrown in for good measure. Immediately after the workout though, I knew I’d be paying for it. But it’s all for a good cause, right?

I took yesterday off to give my muscles some time to repair. Owwie, zowwie they are stiff. Stretching was the only thing on my schedule yesterday - oh besides the requisite cleaning of the house.

Weather is still sucking here. Doesn’t mother nature know this is Windsor? We are supposed to have temps above 30 degrees; humidity of 105% and thunderstorms that can shake the plaster off the ceiling by the long weekend in May. This is JULY, hellooooo?. What on earth is happening? The kids are going bonkers because they haven’t been allowed in the pool all week.

The countdown to our New Brunswick vacation has begun…T-minus two weeks and counting. The kids (well, George at least) are excited and truth be told, I am too. People think I’m crazy flying half way across the country alone with two kids under the age of 5, but I think it’ll be an adventure. In signature Type A personality style, I’ve already begun constructing massive “To Do” and “What to Pack” lists just so that some small part of me feels I’ve prepared as much as I possibly can and anything unfortunate that happens after such preparation can be looked at as unavoidable.

Breakfast this morning was a bowl of Kashi Cinnamon Harvest. Can I tell you how much I luuuuuurve this cereal. It is the mac daddy of all cereals. Best part is, it’s good for you too! Worst part….it’s $6.99 a box at Zehr’s. Yes folks, you read that right – SEVEN FREAKIN’ DOLLARS A BOX for cereal. I haven’t divulged that to Andy yet, though he’s bound to find out. See, he loves it as much as I do so I’m sure when he goes to Zehr’s and picks up a box, as he’s bound to, he’ll see the price and have heart failure. Until then, I’ll enjoy every last cinnamon-y, crunchy morsel and pretend they cost $3.99 like the Go Lean Crunch. Sadly I did not get a picture of my beloved cereal because horror of horrors, this is what presented itself to me at 6:50 am this morning – my own little Million Dollar Baby.

Me: Sweet lord child, what happened to your eye?!

A: The buggie bit me right here (points to eyelid)

Me: Does it hurt?

A: Yep! (runs of laughing wildly, singing the “Save Um’s” theme song)

Apparently she is fine. We took her to the Pediatrician just to get the OK. She got some antibiotics and Benadryl and hopefully things will improve. After we got things in order I took Andriana and went to the gym for a workout. I was torn between wanting to work out hard, but knowing I should give my poor lower half a break. I settled somewhere down the middle. It was a semi-hard workout and was perfect. I did upper body "Pull" exercises and intervals on the bike to get my heart rate spiked. I finished it off with some core work and light stretches for my legs.

Lunch consisted of an “End of the week - Clean out the Fridge!” salad along with some Kashi TLC crackers and hummus. It was YUMMUS! I was skeptical if this salad would even be decent but I was pleasantly surprised.

Here’s what I used:

1 can of Yves Organic corn
1 cup of edamame
1 chopped tomato
1 chopped green onion
Fresh basil (chiffonade) to taste

Dressing: 4 tbsp. rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1 crushed clove of garlic
1 tsp. lemon juice

Sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste.

I am hoping that the edamame is enough to scare Andy off so the leftovers will be all mine….Muhhhhaaahah!!!

I finshed my lunch off with this:

We are going to Andy's parents house tonight for a barbeque - Greek style, of course. I'll be sure to share pictures of the delicious eats. They NEVER dissapoint.

Must run. I'm going to catch up on some blogs and Facebook while enjoying a little piece of Greek heaven known as Nescafe Frappe. Then an afternoon of laundry and stretching lies ahead of me.
